Men's Filoscozia® Mercerized Cotton Knee High Socks
Knee high socks by Langer & Messmer in 100% mercerized cotton Filoscozia® in Bordeaux: over-the-calf length, silky sheen, shrink-resistant, made in Italy by Calze Vitrano.
The Filoscozia® yarn is made from hand-picked, extra-long staple cotton with fibre lengths of 34 to 36 mm from Egypt, Sudan and Peru. This above-average fibre length gives the yarn a natural strength and fineness. The yarn is Mako-combed, spun two-ply to NE 60/2, and then mercerized. The mercerizing process, developed by John Mercer in the mid-19th century, gives the yarn three defining properties: no shrinkage, higher moisture absorption, and a characteristic silky sheen. The yarn is dyed to Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
Over-the-calf socks stay in place all day without slipping into your shoe — essential when wearing boots or formal leather shoes. The smooth surface of the mercerized fibre gives these knee high socks an elegant handle and a subtle lustre that sets them apart from standard hosiery.
