Loake 1880: Goodyear welted shoes according to the time-honoured English tradition
Since 1880 the family-owned company Loake has been producing traditional handmade shoes of the very highest quality and is one of the most recognizable names in English shoemaking. Today, five generations and more than 130 years later, the company is still located in Kettering, Northamptonshire, England, in the very same factory which the founding Loake brothers built in 1894. There, Goodyear welted men's shoes are still being made according to the time-honoured English craftsmanship tradition. Did you know? The construction of a pair of Loake Goodyear welted shoes involves some 130 craftsman, up to 75 shoe parts & over 200 different operations. It takes on average eight weeks from start to finish to complete each pair.
Since 2007 Loake has been the proud holder of a Royal Warrant by Appointment of HM The Queen.
The Loake 1880 range is the best-selling premium series. Within the collection there are many beautiful classic shoe models from the sleek and elegant Oxford cap toe or the versatile Chukka boot to the full brogue with its characteristic intricate punch hole embellishment. Did you know? In their original form, brogues were made with punched-through holes to allow water to flow in and to accelerate drying.
