Description
The quarter brogue – a variation of the full brogue. The full brogue originated in Scotland and Ireland in the 16th century as a sturdy shoe for farmers in the moorlands. Its characteristic perforations were originally designed to allow water to drain out of the shoe. Over time, the holes became smaller and purely decorative. At the beginning of the 20th century, the former work shoe was adopted by the landed gentry and developed into a stylish classic in men's shoe fashion.The quarter brogue does not feature the flower/medallion on the toe of the shoe.
